I'm focusing on 5k as my distance (3.12 miles), which is a little frustrating because it takes me about 2 miles to get into it. I don't know if it's a two mile warm up or if it's the music. It wasn't a bad run. In fact, I'm past the Just Do It Phase, and on to the Do it Faster and Finish Faster Phase. I've been focusing on decreasing my speed. It's not by much, but if I want to go slower I just don't. I guess I'm increasing the effectiveness of the exercise. Again, as long as I don't hurt myself it's all good. I feel good.
So, the run didn't really kick in until Alone, came on. I tracked with U2's Where the Streets Have No Name, which is good, because tracking keeps me focused. I really have to teach myself to track, quite frankly. I'm such a daydreamer it's unbelievable. However, if I don't track and focus the run is unfocused. Once Alone came on, and I started to get into the run, in no time Undone was on and then Given To Fly. I had an incredible runner's high during Given To Fly. It was totally stellar. All of a sudden I realized where I was, so I knew I was flying before that moment. Pretty cool.
