Running Musings 021607

I just ran 6 miles, and it was probably the strongest six miles for me. In other words I felt strong running them. I'm not fast, but over time the less fear that I will overextend myself, the more that running is enjoyable, and the stronger I feel. I've been running since I was 18, and it's only been within the past year that I thought to myself "I really like to run." Some years I hardly ran. Usually, it's been a way for me to physically exert myself, monitor the results, and keep in shape. Also, I suck at volleyball. In fact, any sport that involves coordination is out, and right now I would find it boring to play. Why would anyone play a sport that needs coordination when iPods are available, anyway, is beyond me, but there you go.

I was wearing an Avocado Blue shirt. I attended 5 Pearl Jam concerts in 2006, and when I saw that blue as I was running, I realized that if I had stayed in Seattle I would not have seen 5 shows this year, if any. When I lived in Seattle I didn't travel to see PJ, it just never crossed my mind, and I never had the money for it to cross my mind. Luckily, over on the East Coast, there are so many excellent concert venues, and historically interesting cities, that it would be a shame to stay in one place.
