Running Musings - 060407

Actually, the past two days I've exercised on the stationary bicycle. My goal is to exercise everyday which would be either the treadmill or the exercise bicycle. Also, I have a goal of running at least 12 miles/week. I think that's kindof paltry for someone who identifies as a runner, but really, to get to 12 miles/week consistently beyond 2 weeks would be an improvement. I could always increase my mileage at a later date.

I think this type of cross-training will help with my stride. I'm a very cautious runner, also known as slow, and I'm willing to push myself a little harder on the stationary bicycle because my arms aren't really working. Ultimately, if I exercise and I don't feel invigorated afterwards then I did something wrong. That's the thing with running, the end is the best. Whereas with reading a book the process of getting to the end is the best. Sometimes reading a lot, one book after another after another, is a form of self-indugelgence akin to a weekly running goal :)
