Running Musings - 053007

Today was cross training day. I rode the stationary bike for 20 minutes, and then I ran at a fast-ish pace for about 4 minutes, and then I ran a mile fast. I broke the mile up as I didn't want to hyperventilate. It's been over 20 years since I last hyperventilated, but it's not a good feeling, and I'd rather go slow then hurt like that.

As I was running my fast mile I realized that my goal of completing a mile under X time is TOTALLY DOABLE! It was very cool, that I didn't feel bad or winded. I'm like I can do this. Maybe it was the 20 minutes on the stationary bike before hand, or all that fruit I drank the night before (I put a lot of fruit in a food processor and make a smoothie) or who knows what, but I was very encouraged. Even at 5am :)
