A coworker told me that 15 years ago she would run 8 miles a day. Then she was hit by a car, and hasn't run in 15 years. Yesterday, she tells me that she is training for the San Francisco marathon. She said that her hurdle was the 40 pounds she needed to lose.
A year ago, she said how being hit by the car was a big hurdle to running again.
I told her if she does that marathon, then I'm doing a marathon. That she is truly inspirational! She's going to do it! She's going to jump over whatever hurdles(s) she has and do what used to bring her joy. That is wonderful!
Also, if you are going to read how-to books on running, do yourself a favor, and take them out of the LIBRARY. Ohmygawd! Running books have got to be the most BORING books to read. I have 3. I have't finished any of them. EEEK!
