This was easily the BEST 10k in my life! It felt great most of it, and even when I wanted it to stop, a cool song would come on, and I'd just get inspired to run again. It wasn't necessarily fast, but it was my fastest time, and it felt really good. In other words, maybe my form is coming into the best alignment - you know like planets - hahahahahahahahahaha I was really focused. I usually daydream and look in many different place, but I looked straight ahead for a lot of it. Pretty different way of going about the run.
I ate two apples about an hour before the run, and a banana right before, and I swear that is a major reason why it was so good. I was worried since I ran 4 miles yesterday that it would not be so great, but man, it ROCKED! I had a couple runner's highs which are always cool :)
Highlights included PJ's Given to Fly. James Brown's I Feel Good, Joe Cocker's Feeling Alright, Everything but the Girl's Walking Wounded, and others I forgot, but they were great! The true light was a new song I just added - Late in the Evening by Paul Simon. I don't know if it's because I remember the 1991 concert at the Rosemont Horizon in Illinois or what, but that song makes me HAPPY! I'm so glad I changed the songs on my iPOD, a refinement shall we say.
I'm still inspired by Brian Roberts of the O's and the Little Train that Could.
