Running Musings - 010508

I plan on running today so this won't be the only post. Headphones are not permitted at the Cherry Blossom Race. I plan on running outside without headphones to prepare for it. In fact, the speed and the mileage are secondary to running without headphones. I know I can do the mileage, and I can get by on the speed, running without headphones, though, is not fun. This year is suppose to be fun. If I run without headphones, and I realize that life is just too boring and lonely without them, then fuck it, I won't run the race. No problem.

My saving grace is that I can walk walk walk without headphones. So, as long as I get into the walking mindset but with running then I should be able to do it. I love to walk, and it's not safe with headphones. Probably why headphones are not permitted in the race. We'll see. It's possible, but then again, I'm not going to push myself to be lonely just so I can be bored. Running a race is lonely, actually. I don't have anyone to do it with me. I better be in the walking mindset because walking is never boring.
