Running Musings - 071707

Base mileage, and base speed - Yippee! I swear there are very cool unseen influences just helping me along. Also, I still advocate eating a banana before a workout. I realized that even if a banana (organic) was flown here all the way from Mars I would still eat it. There is just such a difference in running when I eat a banana before a run. I don't get the same affect from apples and kiwi. Squeezed juice from oranges and lemons is pretty good, but bananas is where it's at. Again, only organic or why bother.

I had to decrease the incline today because I just didn't want to increase my speed, but it was for a shorter distance than yesterday, and the decrease in incline wasn't as severe as yesterday. Highlights included Kate Bush's Jig of Life, Bruce's Dancing in the Dark, and Pearl Jam's Red Mosquito. Pearl Jam bandmembers must be runners because they've created some incredible running tunes! :)

If I train for a 10 mile+ race then I would need to train outdoors. For safety reasons I could not wear my headsets. The reason to enter the race then is so I could wear my headsets while running outdoors. If I'm not safe around a couple thousand people, then ai yai yai!
